A passenger on a Southwest Airlines flight to San Jose was busted on suspicion of attempted child molestation after a woman sitting in a row behind him read suspicious large-font texts he was composing on his smartphone and tipped off the flight crew, officials said Thursday.

Eleven people from across Northern California were arrested in connection with a sex trafficking sting in Roseville, law enforcement officials said Friday.
Roseville Police Department, in partnership with the Placer County Special Investigation Unit, conducted a “john sting” hoping to catch anyone involved in prostitution and discourage others from participating.
BURLINGAME — Matthew Graves, the first person ever to be convicted of human trafficking by a San Mateo County jury, was sentenced Friday to 34 years to life in prison, prosecutors said.
In February, Graves, 29, of Berkeley, was found guilty of four felonies: pimping of a minor, pandering of a minor, human trafficking of a minor for sex acts, and witness dissuasion.
